Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 29, 2026
This policy explains what information Derby Duck Races, LLC ("Derby Duck Races," "we," "us") collects on derbyduckrace.com, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It covers this website only. Duck adoption pages for individual races (on duckrace.com and our eQuack platform) have their own terms and privacy policies.
Information you give us
When you use our race plan calculator, virtual race planner, or contact forms, you give us your name, email address, organization, city and state, and (if you choose) a phone number, along with your answers to the planning questions (for example, organization type, fundraising goal, and timeline). If you book a call, the scheduling tool collects the details you enter there.
Information collected automatically
When you visit the site, we and our providers automatically collect:
- pages you view, links and buttons you click, and how you move through our forms;
- the website or ad that referred you, including ad click identifiers from Google and Meta;
- device and browser information, such as browser type, screen size, and approximate location derived from your IP address.
We use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies to do this, including our own analytics and the advertising tags described below.
How we use information
- to send you the race plan or information you asked for, and to follow up about running a duck race;
- to understand how people use the site and improve it;
- to measure whether our advertising works and to show our ads to people likely to be interested;
- to keep the site secure and prevent spam and abuse.
We do not sell your contact details to data brokers or to other companies for their own marketing.
Analytics and advertising partners
- PostHog provides our site analytics. It records page views, clicks, and form events, and links that activity to your email address after you submit a form. It can also record a replay of your visit (how you scroll, click, and move through the site) so we can find and fix problems. What you type into form fields is hidden in those recordings.
- Google Ads helps us measure which ads lead to inquiries. When you submit a form, Google's tag may send a scrambled (hashed) version of your email address to Google to match the inquiry to an ad click.
- Meta (Facebook and Instagram) helps us measure and deliver our ads. The Meta Pixel records page views and when a form is submitted. We do not send Meta your name, email, or phone number through the Pixel. When you submit a form, our servers may also send Meta a record of that submission with a scrambled (hashed) version of your email address, to match the inquiry to an ad click. If you have opted out as described below, we do not send it.
Google and Meta may use this information, along with information they collect elsewhere, to measure and target ads. Under some state privacy laws, this can be considered "sharing" personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. You can opt out as described below.
Depending on where you are, we ask before we turn on our analytics, visit recordings, and the Google Ads and Meta tags. If you see that question and answer "No thanks," they stay off. If you are not asked, they are on unless you opt out. To decide whether to ask, we use the state your internet address appears to be in.
Your choices and how to opt out
- Opt out on this site. Use the button below. It turns off our analytics, visit recordings, and the Google Ads and Meta tags in this browser. It is saved in your browser, so you would need to do it again on another device or if you clear your browser data.
- Global Privacy Control. If your browser or extension sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a request to opt out: our analytics and the Google Ads and Meta tags do not load, and visits are not recorded.
- Ad settings. You can manage ads from these companies at Google My Ad Center and Meta Ad Preferences.
- Browser controls. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
- Emails. Every marketing email includes a way to unsubscribe.

Service providers
We use service providers to run the site and our business, including website hosting (Vercel), our database, email delivery, Google Workspace, scheduling, and the analytics and advertising partners above. They may process your information only to provide their services to us.
How long we keep information
We keep inquiry and contact information for as long as we have a business relationship or a reasonable business need (for example, to follow up about a future race), and then delete or de-identify it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to get a copy, to correct it, to delete it, and to opt out of the sharing described above. To make a request, email us at info@duckrace.com. We will not treat you differently for exercising these rights. We may need to verify your request before acting on it.
Children
This site is for organizations planning fundraisers. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page.
