A Cincinnati-based duck racing event marking its 25th year will feature 200,000 rubber ducks benefiting Freestore Foodbank. The primary prize includes a 2019 Honda CRV LX with an additional chance to win $1 million. Each duck purchased can provide 15 meals for kids in the community across a 20-county region spanning Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana.

The Duck Team

Freestore Foodbank is expanding this year’s event presented by Dawn. The race occurs on September 1st, with the winning duck’s owner receiving the vehicle and prize opportunity. Second place receives $100 weekly from Kroger for one year, while five additional winners get $500 each from Kemba Credit Union.

The organization distributes 27 million meals annually through 450 community partners including food pantries and shelters. Ducks are available for purchase at participating Kroger locations through August 31st, with a bulk option of 6 ducks for $25. Ticket holders need not attend to win prizes.
